A client hired me to paint his heraldry on a Museum Replicas LTD “Renaissance Shield”. This will be used for Historical European Martial Arts, primarily with the Bolognese Partisan and Rotella techniques. I used a technique called diapering on the white field, which is where a darker shade of the same color is used in a design to provide visual interest without disrupting the rules of color of the heraldry. The original image has a bridge that the client asked me to omit.
